Trout today

I enjoyed an afternoon at Grafham Water today with my friend Peter Waterhouse. Peter had "won" a free boat at Grafham so shared it with myself in the afternoon. The trout were quite obliging and 3 threw themselves onto my hooks. Nice to see so many fish moving in the top 3inches of water. Peter took 4 for the day. All nice silver fish so my wife will be enjoying one for dinner tomorrow.

A newbie to Blogs and Blogging

Well I've taken a bite of the bullet and ventured into the world of blogs!
Quite what I'm expected to do now is a bit of a mystery, but I assume I will rant over something or other.

So here goes!!

Welcome to my blog!!

Needless to say I'll start with a rant!
I've just returned from a fishing club committee meeting, where all was well until the one blot on the committee, started his usual rant about Predator anglers and the way they supposedly break the rules of a certain trout water.
So they break the rules by using slightly undersized lures, but they do no harm to the trout stocks and the money they spend is a big bonus for the fishery.
It's strange that in all the years I have fished at this place, I have only witnessed 2 trout caught on small spinners/lures and yet the blot has seen 3 good sized trout taken on the first day of the Predator open period.
Am I being cynical?
He also moans about them anchoring on the inlet "Boil" now I know that the water here is 56' deep and the anchor ropes are, wait for it, 36' long. Need I say more!
